Beware the stare

This marquetry artwork presents a striking tiger portrait crafted entirely from natural wood veneers. Careful selection of contrasting tones and flowing grain patterns creates depth, symmetry, and intensity, drawing the viewer into the tiger’s penetrating gaze. The design relies on precision cutting and negative space rather than paint, allowing the natural character of the wood to define form and expression. Framed by warm wood tones, the piece celebrates strength, focus, and the timeless beauty found in both wildlife and fine craftsmanship.
